“Murphy-Tiernan is a humble staff member who prides her accomplishments as group efforts,” said Kirk Johnson, WCSD associate superintendent. “She loves the people she has the opportunity to work with every day, the students that inspire her, and the hope for the future that she sees within the building.”

On the heels of Murphy-Tiernan’s retirement, WCSD is excited to announce Mark Stallman as Murphy-Tiernan’s successor at the end of the 2018-19 school year. Stallman joined the WCSD in 2006 and has held several positions within the district including; teacher, athletic coach, instructional coach, assistant principal at Timberline School, and most recently an assistant principal at Prairieview School.  Stallman started his professional career in Waukee at Prairieview as a 9th-grade science teacher in 2006.

“Mark will continue the strong academic success and culture at Prairieview,” said Terry Hurlburt, WCSD associate superintendent. “Having Mark serve our district in the many roles he has, is a huge benefit for our staff and students, by bringing a unique lens to his new role that will provide the skill set for success at Prairieview.”

Prairieview School will miss Juley’s bright face around their building but wish her the best in her next chapter. Thank you, Juley, for the dedication and love you have brought to our district.
